It is official, the signed contract is in the mail and on its way to me. Illya Leonov will be narrating and recording the audio edition of "Selkies' Skins: Castle and Well," and I am very excited to have the project voiced by him. Personally I like his voice just as much, if not more, than Stephen Fry's readings of the Harry Potter series (and that's a voice I really like). My kids enjoy his reading, and I've heard Really Good Things from my mate too. He has already recorded two chapters to give me a baseline of how it would sound (OMG!!! <3) so I am looking very forward to hearing him do the whole thing. AND!!! Once it is done we plan to have him narrate the Dragon Shaman books (so looking forward to hearing Fujiyama and Ryu as he reads them...and BlowingWind I know is going to be a treat). It is included in his contract that he's expressed interest in doing those after the completion of this current project, and he's been given right of first refusal for subsequent books in the series. So, I look forward to seeing all of these get completed. I am really glad that my mate attracted me to a particular SL community, as otherwise I probably would not have discovered this wonderful voice (plus, he's cool).
It shouldn't be too much longer before I can release the print and ebook editions. One final round of edits that are underway (Yes! Picky picky. It must be just right.), and I need to talk to the cover artist and see if she got the art finished. Almost there. ALMOST THERE!!!
Progress in the second book of the series is moving slower than I would like, mostly due to interruptions during my writing time. Some are people coming to my door...some are puppy related. It is very hard to write with a rambunctious little one gnawing on your ankle, insisting on sitting in your lap, or trying to play his favorite game (show off how small the author's wrists are by fitting the WHOLE THING in a sharp toothed tiny puppy mouth...with wrists so small, no wonder its hard to find bracelets I like that fit). Then some are just brain farts due to being so tired lately. Progress is being made in that book though. I suspect that I may have to write some chapters out of order though. As I get chapter names figured out I will post them on the contents page for that book on the archive site.
