Friday the 24th at 3 PM Pacific Time my interview with Nancy Stohlman, author, performer, and professor premieres on Youtube. I will also publish to my podcast host service to push out to Spotify, iTunes, Google Podcasts, and more. The audio is already posted to my Patreon in a patron-only level to allow my Patreon Patrons a chance to hear it first.

In this interview, I chat with Nancy about her latest flash novel, "After the Rapture," writing, life, routines, and about being a professor, and the importance of college.

Nancy Stohlman is the author of six books including Going Short: An Invitation to Flash Fiction (2020), winner of the 2021 Reader Views Gold Award and re-released in 2022 as an audiobook. Her fiction includes After the Rapture (March 7, 2023), Madam Velvet’s Cabaret of Oddities (2018), The Vixen Scream and Other Bible Stories (2014), The Monster Opera (2013), and Searching for Suzi: a flash novel (2009). Nancy’s work has been anthologized widely, appeared in the Norton anthology New Micro: Exceptionally Short Fiction and The Best Small Fictions 2019, as well as adapted for stage and screen. She teaches at the University of Colorado Boulder, as well as around the world through online instruction and destination retreats.

Today's podcast episode is up with some poetry and a short dark fiction by myself. I actually GREATLY disturbed myself writing today's feature because "oh, I'll write about a writer that's snowed in" went to "it's the end for me, it's at the window" very quickly.

I am still dealing with minor ear, Eustachian tube, and throat issues, and thus also am not speaking at normal levels, as well as having to rebuild filter curves for audio processing. Due to a variety of issues this therefore does not sound as loud to me after bringing the RMS up, and I still sound a little muffled.

Not intended for children. For those that need trigger warnings although the poems do not deal with death the feature story does.

Regarding the Publishing Web Site

The main website has been updated and the publication catalogs made current. It will now be easier for me to update when new things need to be added. Also on the main site itself I have added a specific page to list all the print, ebook, or audiobook projects I have taken part in either as a staff member of another publisher or as a freelancer. I have done this in the spirit of cross promotion as every time a copy of those titles finds another reader or listener is goo for all parties concerned in the production.

If I have taken part in a project of yours and you want it listed please feel free to contact me.

Since the main site is now able to be more dynamic you will notice the links in the side of this blog changing as I work through choosing what to redirect, collapse, or delete. My goal is to tie them together more organically.

Podcast Episode

I have not had a chance to write any flash fictions that I am satisfied with, although I have been submitted another provocative one by Maxaxle that it slated for next week. This week I have chosen to release an episode reading from Arthur Waley's translation of "One Hundred Seventy Chinese Poems" or "170 Chinese Poems" which is freely available on Gutenberg.org.

Do you remember the dog book I illustrated for? You can meet the author in this podcast. I am so ecstatic that the interviewer termed the art as "whimsical" as that is exactly what I was aiming for.
edited: The video did not show up the first time.
