Aug. 29th, 2013 07:42 pm There are definite drawbacks to working on sections of a story where it is JUST the protaganist against her trek. That awful feeling of it being only you follows everywhere. BlowingWind has the advantage of a guardian on hers, but not Kirsty. Both on the skinquest and the final preparation...she's so alone...
And her "allies" she has to find through her initiation do not think from her mortal perspective. Even the kindest, the Lady, could as easily just kill her by just "forgetting."
It's a horrible feeling writing this section. I'll be so glad when it's done. It's the bad empty and alone feeling it makes in me.

It's so mind numbing I had to actually open up dad's bottle of English Leather Cologne and smell it just to drive back a very tiny bit of that. It is rare that I have to do that.
Yes, I still have the bottle of cologne that he only half-finished using before he died in 2008. Deal with it. Try to take it away and you'll discover I can get physical.
